Officer Pegue, for your service to our Nation and your service to the people of Chicago, I thank you. Those who took your life were insignificant, meaningless dirt who deserved true justice, if not in this life, then in the next. They took the life of a man who was far superior in everyway and on this 68th anniversary of your murder, I wish to acknowledge your sacrifice. You are truly a hero.
God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

Every Sunday I am with your grandchildren and great grandchildren at church and I've never mentioned to them that I know their grandpa is a hero who died defending the safety of others. Well your son is a Chicago radio legend and your grandson is following those footsteps as well. You may have met your EOW but your name has lived on.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 66th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
