On today, the 130th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Nashville. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Loved you great Grandad, Also loved your son, L. B. Parkinson my Mother's Dad who was only 8 yrs. old when you were shot and killed in the line of duty. Bonnie Parkinson McCullough, my Mom was honored several yrs. on Police appreciation day at downtown Memphis. L. B. lived to be 94 yrs old. Rufus is buried at Salem Church in Atoka, Tn. L. B. is buried at Rosemark cemetary in Rosemark, Tn. Paul Mc.

I saw a dedication to Patrolman Parkinson in a police exhibition whilst on holiday in Memphis and was touched by the man's bravery.

To my great grandfather, R. C. Parkinson, whom I never knew because of your death over a century ago, I hope you are in paradise with all of our other loved ones gone before. I know how proud my Mother and Grandfather were of you, and so am I. May God bless all of law enforcement for the dangerous job they have. And may you rest in peace, great grandfather.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 115th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
