Your heroism and service is honored today, the 54th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

You are my mother's cousin. Although you were killed five years before I was born, she always remembered you, and she told us of your sacrifice. You will never be forgotten. May you both be at peace now in heaven.

I salute you, Sir, for your bravery, dedication and sacrifice. You were brutally murdered on the very day I was born. May your friends and family take comfort in knowing that you will FOREVER be a hero and even after 51 years, you will NEVER be FORGOTTEN. I will be 51 years old on the 51st anniversary of your death. Perhaps I was born so I could grow to be a police officer, just as you were destined to be. You were a hero, you ARE a hero, and forever you will BE a hero! May God bless your family.

As a resident of Scarsdale, who has gotten to know many of the Scarsdale police officers, I can appreciate the fact that officer Ackerly made his sacrafice in an effort to protect others in the community. May he rest in peace.
