Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

To the man I never knew. I know you were a wonderful man, because of the children you left behind. Your youngest child is my mother. She was 12 when you were taken and grew to be the most wonderful person, someone you would be proud of. Thank you for being such a great father and husband. She still thinks of you often. Can't wait to meet you in heaven. Love you, Just one of your many grandchildren.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 58th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Assistant Chief O'Neal - Sounds like you were leading from the front, Sir. Thanks for your example of courage and commitment. Two Fridays ago I stood in the State Assembly chambers when your name was one of the almost 250 read off during a vote regarding next month's Police Memorial Week. You are not forgotten. Thank you for your service to the people of Monte Vista and the state of Colorado. May God grant you eternal rest and may his perpetual light shine upon you.
