Reflections for Marshal David Clayton Ogsbury
I’m grateful for your service and sacrifice. Every time I touch your steamer trunk which still resides in the homestead of your brother Peter J. Ogsbury I’m reminded of you! You’re the hometown hero of the homestead we still occupy, now for seven generations. We will be out to Silverton soon to pay our respects in person.

Clate was my cousin. While I never met him, I am proud of his service to his community.
He was one of many peace officers in my family.

DC - I have grown up hearing stories about you - your memory is still very much alive on the old family farm that is still in service and a cherished part of your decendants everyday lives. Please know that you are never far from our thoughts. You are a family treasure, and we all thank you for your dedication and sacrifice.

Marshal Ogsbury - Two Fridays ago I stood in the State Assembly chambers when your name was one of the almost 250 read off during a vote regarding next month's Police Memorial Week. You are not forgotten. Thank you for your service to the people of Silverton and the state of Colorado. May God grant you eternal rest and may his perpetual light shine upon you.
