Dear Sid, my Father worked with you on the Detroit Police Department. His name was Joe Geromette. He loved you as a person and as a fellow officer. He talked about you throughout his entire life. I hope you and my dad are in heaven and are together again having fun. You are a true hero. RIP

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 56th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Your memory will always be honored and revered for time never diminishes respect.
Rest In Peace

Dear Sid: I sat next to you at the Police Academy in 1952. Our class had fifty nine cadets. I was the last member of that class to retire in 1991 (after 40 years). You were the only member of our class to be lost in the line of duty. I think of you often, as I am sure our other classmates do also. You are a American Hero, and I was honored to know you.

My father, Arthur LaVigne, served on the Detroit P.D. from 1954-1960 so he may have known you. He then went on to retire from the Flint P.D. in 1987. May God bless your family and may you rest in peace.

I remember walking the beat on
several occasions with Sidney. He had
long legs and I could not keep up with
him. He was a very nice person.
Rest in peace
