Your heroism and service is honored today, the 102nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. . My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I recently found out that Officer O'Brien is my 2nd great uncle and died while on duty. From the brief information I have he was a very heroic individual and I am glad that I am related to him.

Of interest, I note that his great grand-daughter has also found this site, Mary Ann Herrick. Mary Ann feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. I am working on family tree and I am thinking we can help each other out.

It is hard to believe 100 years have gone by. My husband John did a rubbing of our great grandfather's name at the memorial wall in Washington D.C. on the 100th anniversary of his death. God bless and rest in peace.
Also, thank you to all of the people who wrote such kind reflections.

Our family recently found out that our great grandfather died in a fire. Our grandmother was only 6 at the time and she only knew he died in the line of duty. If anyone has any information we would appreciate it.
