Reflections for Police Officer David O'Brien

Thank you for your serve my beloved great grandfather. You must know your family still speaks of you fondly, has never forgotten you. It seems the loss was so long ago, yet not that long ago. I realize if you had only lived as long as my father, your grandson, I and five of your great grandchildren would have had the chance to spend time with you on this earth. Someday I’ll hear your stories firsthand. I’m sure my grandpa, who had to see what the anarchists did to you, to say, yes this is my father, is finally at peace and at your side along with my dad and my sons. Eternal Rest Grant unto You All and Your Fellow Officers, Oh Lord, and Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon All of You. May the Souls of All the Faithful Departed, Through the Mercy of God, Rest In Peace.

97 years ago today, you and 7 of your colleagues died for no good reason. A horrible tragic loss of so many lives. Events of such loss are thankfully not that common, but they are still TOO common. Your sacrifice has not been forgotten and we can only hope the person or persons responsible for this act faced true justice, if not in this life, then in the next.

May God Bless all of you and may you all Rest Eternally in Peace, Brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 94th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

In recent years, the law enforcement community has been devastated by incidents of multiple officers being killed, but I had not known of this horrific bomb incident when a epartment lost so many in ine incident. How awful it must have been for the entire community.

Rest In Peace
