My mother related the story of the bravery and sacrifice of her father, and my grandfather, Otto Nukem. My mother was was only 7 years old at the time. Very proud of him and his service to the City of Johnstown!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
