Police Officer William Novak,

Seventy-seven years ago you stood for others and placed yourself in jeapordy for the public you served. In the end you lost your life. To have died for others while wearing the uniform of a law officer is not only an act of courage, it is one of dedication, commitment and indeed the highest form of honor. We are not informed of the specifics involving this incident and whether or not justice was served. Regardless, we owe you deep gratitude and endless thanks. You are remembered as fearless, intrepid and brave soldier of the law. You sought to do your duty neither swerving from it's path nor evaluating what price you might have pay. In the end, while you might have been struck to the ground, you stand tall and noble among those who have given their lives before you. As a fellow law officer and guardian of the public I burst with pride in honoring you with a final salute. Well done, Officer Novak...well done.
