John J. Nolan

Patrolman John Nolan suffered a fatal heart attack while at home with his family.

The patrolman had been involved in a foot chase with a burglary suspect at 1:00 a.m. the day before at a Central Islip restaurant.

Officer Nolan was a United States Navy veteran and had served with the Suffolk County Police Department for over two years. He was survived by his wife, three daughters, and a son.
