Floyd E. Lawson

Patrolman Floyd Lawson was killed when the automobile he was in struck a parked car.

Patrolman Lawson suffered a skull fracture and never regained consciousness. He died two months later from the injury. Patrolman Lawson had just returned to work after being wounded in a gun battle several months earlier.

Patrolman Lawson was a United States Coast Guard Reserve World War II veteran and had served with the Texas Department of Public Safety - Texas Highway Patrol for seven years. He was survived by his wife and parents.

On today, the 75th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
