Patrolman Floyd Lawson was killed when the automobile he was in struck a parked car.
Patrolman Lawson suffered a skull fracture and never regained consciousness. He died two months later from the injury. Patrolman Lawson had just returned to work after being wounded in a gun battle several months earlier.
Patrolman Lawson was a United States Coast Guard Reserve World War II veteran and had served with the Texas Department of Public Safety - Texas Highway Patrol for seven years. He was survived by his wife and parents.
