David Michael Healy

Police Officer David Healy was killed in an automobile crash while en route to the South Central Patrol Station at 2:00 a.m.

He had just dropped off a prisoner at the Southeast Jail and was driving on the South Freeway when he swerved to avoid a collision in the roadway. His vehicle struck a highway sign at the MacGregor overpass.

Officer Healy was a U.S. Army Persian Gulf War veteran and had served with the Houston Police Department for two years. He was survived by his mother, father, brother, and fiancée.

On today, the 30th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army as a member of the 82nd “All American” Airborne Division during the Gulf War. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
