Seldon L. Jones

Police Officer Seldon Jones was killed in a motorcycle accident on Bangor Street, near the intersection of North Belfast Avenue.

He had just passed another vehicle when his police motorcycle struck a pothole. He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered a fatal head injury.

Officer Jones was a member of the Maine National Guard and had served with the Augusta Police Department for 17 months. He was survived by his wife and two children.
