Henry Ingram

Chief Ingram was shot and killed while escorting two men he arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct to jail. His 24-year-old killer was convicted of murder on January 29, 1925, and sentenced to life. The Alabama Supreme Court granted him a new trial and he was again found guilty of murder but sentenced to 23 years. He was paroled on December 31, 1932.

Chief Ingram was survived by his wife and four children.
