View all 13 ReflectionsGrady, it has so many years since I last saw your face, I was a young boy ten and you were bigger tan life itself. I still remember you talking (aggravating) Your Brother Mike and Myself and my family all respected you highly. I, along with everyone in our family was devastated by your death. I admired what you did and between You, my Brother Elvie (Army MP and Gwinnett County Police)and Uncle Jack Hasty (City of Atlanta) I became a Police Officer also. Late in my career, while researching yours and Assistant Chief Stancil's History for the Memorial Wall at the Georgia Peace Officer Standards Training Center, I was able to locate the Georgia State Patrol and Later Past Sheriff Red Fields who worked your accident. I must tell you he spoke VERY highly of you and even told me who he knew but could not prove was your runner that faithful night. He was so pleased that both of you would be added to the Wall of Honor. Since Elvie joined you on the other side of Jordan, I am sure you two have past on some more stories. They tell me it won't be many years before I join all of you and I fully expect a family reunion because the Dacus' always had big reunions with LOTS of Good food and homemade Music......................Rest well Hero and when you see everyone tell them I love them and if a couple of short women one brunette and one blonde find you please just tell them to "come on in a sit a spell"
