View all 39 ReflectionsFlip was a special man when we knew him in Haines, Alaska, my husband was a Reserve Officer for the first few years we lived there from 1980, I don’t remember when he came to town but our first contact was with him because he played basketball with our sons and all the local kids. When he discovered my husband was the reserve officer for the department he started coming to our home to visit he was always so interested in helping others and he felt becoming an officer was the right thing to do….my husband is gone now too but we both spoke of him often, and when we got word he had been killed in Dillingham we were devastated. We always think of he and his wife Trudy and their daughter in February. Flip was taken too soon doing a job he loved…..
