This last year has been rough to say the least. Barry didn’t die because he was sick, or even in a car accident. He died doing what he loved to do, trying to protect the community he lived in. As I lay here reading the comments I see the impact he had on so many people. He was a light in a very dark world, and I am so very grateful to have been a recipient of that light for the last 4 years of his life. He left a mark on my life, our families lives, this world and on the town of Ville Platte. Hopefully his years of selfless service to others and the community will not easily be forgotten. I love you! **Lt. Barry Giglio, Ville Platte City Marshal, EOW-07/31/23. **
