Troy Todd Bailey

Deputy Sheriff Troy Bailey suffered a fatal heart attack following a confrontational domestic situation with a convicted felon.

Deputy Bailey and another deputy served a protection order to a known felon which stated the felon must be removed from the residence. The felon was confrontational and argumentative. That evening, Deputy Bailey completed his shift and collapsed.

He was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to myocardial infarction.

Deputy Bailey had served with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office for 25 years and previously served with the Lexington Police Department for 4 1/2 years, Buffalo County Sheriff's Office for a year and the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services for 2 years. He is survived by his two daughters, son, two grandchildren, parents, two sisters, and fiancée.
