Marshal William Cox passed away after suffering a heart attack while arresting a subject for causing a disturbance in a local tavern.
Marshal Cox had arrested the man and was on his way to the justice of the peace when he collapsed.
Marshal Cox had served with the Fairmount Police Department for nine years. He is survived by his wife, ten children, brother, sister, and two grandchildren.
