Officer Jack was killed in an on-duty motorcycle accident while on traffic control duty for a concert. His police motorcycle hit a raised center divider and rolled several times.
Officer Jack joined the department in July 1988 after two years with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. He was survived by his parents, fiancee, two younger brothers, and his grandparents.

View all 19 ReflectionsI knew Billy as a kid growing up in Brunswick Maine back in the 60s when his Dad was a manager at WT Grant. His kindness, caring and goodness were a draw to him and even after he moved away I never forgot him. My mother told me of his passing back in 1991 and even then I felt the pain of such a terrible loss. Was thinking of him today and revisited his memorial, the world would be a much better place with more people like him and it came as no surprise to know just how many others came to know and respect him as he made his journey through life...rest in peace Billy, you are not forgotten
