Detective Alex Goodman and Lieutenant Aubrey Milstead were killed in a vehicle crash near Bowling Green, Ohio, while on official travel.
They had traveled to Camp Perry, Ohio, with other members of the San Antonio Police Department Pistol Team to represent the agency in the National Police Pistol Match. The team had finished competing and was returning to San Antonio when one of their vehicles ran off the roadway on the Dixie Highway, eight miles south of Bowling Green.
Detective Goodman and Lieutenant Milstead were both killed in the crash and two other officers were injured.
Detective Goodman was survived by his wife.
