View all 153 ReflectionsI never know the right words to say on February 4th. How could I possibly put into words the pain and sadness I feel knowing that my best friend has been gone for 5 years? I truly believe that HEROES REMEMBERED NEVER DIE so today and every day I strive to keep saying your name, Lucas Dowell. All the lives you touched, all the memories we made and all the time we spent together will never be enough. You’ve missed so much since you made the ultimate sacrifice but I know you’re smiling down on us from Heaven. I hope you’re proud of me becoming a father and I know you’d be ecstatic that we named our son after you. You would have been the best Uncle to Owen and I have told him so much about you already! I love you brother and even though you’re gone, it’s never goodbye, it’s see you later. Rest easy hero, we’ll take it from here. #876
