Harrison R. Brown

Patrolman Harrison Brown was shot and killed when he stopped to question a man while walking his beat at 13th Street North and North Wabash Avenue in Wichita.

The man later admitted to the murder. On March 9, 1925, he was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 40 years.

Patrolman Brown had served with the was the Wichita Police Department for two years. He was the first black officer with the Wichita Police Department to be killed in the line of duty. He was survived by his wife.
