Lloyd John Hine

Chief of Police Lloyd Hine succumbed to injuries sustained the previous day when he was struck by an automobile on Highway 908 at the entrance to a motorcycle race track.

He was directing traffic following a race when he was struck by a vehicle occupied by six teenagers. The vehicle overturned three times after striking Chief Hine, but he occupants were not injured. Chief Hine was transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Chief Hine had served with the Fawn Township Police Department for four years. He was survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, six grandchildren, mother, and two sisters.
