James Terrell Callaway

Marshal Callaway was stabbed to death while attempting to arrest two drunk men at approximately 2330 hours. The suspects stabbed Marshal Callaway several times during the altercation. The two suspects were both convicted twice for the murder, but eventually had their convictions overturned or reduced.

Marshal Callaway had served with the Mount Calm City Marshal's Office for over one year.

He was survived by his wife, three children, and parents.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
