Richard Truman Chisholm

Constable Richard Chisholm was shot and killed when he was ambushed by a man whom he had arrested for drinking in public several weeks earlier.

He was on foot patrol on Main Street when he was ambushed shortly after midnight. Constable Chisholm was found with four gunshot wounds, his pistol and money missing.

The suspect was apprehended. He confessed to shooting Constable Chisholm and showed authorities where to find Constable Chisholm's gun. He was convicted and executed for the murder.

Constable Chisholm was a United States Army WWI veteran. He was survived by his wife and three children.
