Mike was my beat partner at work and a close personal friend away from work. He was a great police officer and an even better human being. His loss affected so many both within and outside of JSO. He came from a family of wonderful people who deserved to have him in their lives much longer. The selfless act of swerving to avoid a dog in the roadway was exactly the type of person he was. He left his mark on so many people and will be forever missed. I have carried his loss with me even after retiring from JSO myself. I have visited his gravesite and his marker on the national police memorial many times over the years since we lost him. it is always a moving experience. Rest in peace my friend!
