Deputy Sheriff Bill Inman was killed when his powered parachute struck a power line while he was searching for the body of an 18-month-old girl.

He crashed into the Salmon River south of the town of Salmon. The powered parachute was quickly found, but Deputy Inman's body wasn't discovered until March 9th, 1997, approximately two miles south of the town.

Deputy Inman had served with the Lemhi County Sheriff's Department for two years and previously served in law enforcement in Illinois. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son.

I love you , I miss you so much DAD.... It never gets easier... 26 years .... I have struggle to live with the pain......In Heaven,... i hope you see how " that woman " is treating me and the situation , I'm sure you are rolling in your grave .... as you can see she's not following your wishes..... nothing can ever replace you… At times i find myself wishing is was with you .....I would do anything to have you back( as you know , because I talk to you on a regular basis,) I used to feel guilty about the question I asked you the day you got married but no longer since i think she contributed to your death.......I love you, I miss you...Maria
