Sergeant Ronald Wise was shot and killed as he attempted to arrest a man for child abuse.

Other officers at the scene returned fire and wounded the subject, who was then arrested.

on the 59th Anniversary of your death, today I am honoring your sacrifice and that of your Wife Ellen and your 2 Daughters ... It is hard to raise 2 children on your own.
You will never be forgotten Sergeant Wise.
I hope the child you helped save has grown up to be a productive member of society.
Continue to rest in peace.
