Patrolman Olin Wilson succumbed to his wounds when he was shot while questioning a man about the man shooting a firearm carelessly at 761 Kenyon Avenue in Cincinnati.

A local resident approached District Four Patrolman Wilson at his residence and informed him that a man had just fired two shots into the windows of her residence. While relating this story, the woman saw the suspect and pointed to him. When Patrolman Wilson called out to the suspect, he drew his revolver and shot Patrolman Wilson three times.

Patrolman Wilson was taken to General Hospital, where he died two days later.

The murderer was convicted and executed eight months later. He was the fourth person executed for the murder of a Cincinnati policeman.

Patrolman Wilson had served with the Cincinnati Police Department for two years. He was survived by his wife and son. His brother, two nephews, and a niece all served with the Cincinnati Police Department.

He is buried in Union Baptist Cemetery in Covedale.

The area of Kenyon Barr was redeveloped in 1950s.
