Trooper Gary Wade was struck and killed by a vehicle during a traffic stop on Kennedy Highway one-quarter mile south of the Havre de Grace exit.
Trooper Wade had served with the Maryland State Police for just over two years.

View all 25 ReflectionsI was watching the news story tonight about the ceremony for the Fallen Heroes and Gary popped up in my mind. I was a friend of his sister Linda and his cousin Marcella and knew all of the Wade kids, their parents and uncles. I remember getting the news of his passing and attending his funeral. It was such a shock, he was so young. He was a great guy and very much loved by his friends and family. They were so proud of him.
