Lawrence Sullivan

Patrolman Lawrence Sullivan was shot and killed while questioning a suspicious subject at 116th Street and Indiana Avenue.

During his patrol, Patrolman Sullivan observed a suspicious man on the street. As Patrolman Sullivan stopped him for questioning, the offender produced a revolver and shot him several times. Other officers returned fire, killing the suspect.

Patrolman Sullivan was rushed to the hospital, where he died of his injuries the following day.

Patrolman Sullivan had served with the 9th district.
