Manuel Salcido, Jr.

Border Patrol Agent Manuel Salcido was killed in an automobile crash while driving a seized vehicle to the Del Rio Sector headquarters in Texas.

The vehicle went out of control on the ice-covered Sycamore Bridge along U.S. 277 and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Agent Salcido was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War. He had served with the United States Border Patrol for one year. He is survived by his wife and is buried at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX.

On today, the 35th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country-not just as a Border Patrol Agent but also when you served with the USCG during the Vietnam War. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
