David Harry Rose

Officer David Rose was accidentally shot and killed in Montgomery County, Maryland, following a pursuit of a robbery and kidnapping suspect that ended in Montgomery County.

The suspect vehicle stopped on I-495, near University Boulevard, and a struggle ensued as they attempted to arrest the man. The officer's gun was discharged when his arm was bumped during the struggle.

Officer Rose was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and had served with the Metropolitan Police Department for nine months. He was survived by his expectant wife and one child.
