View all 18 ReflectionsI visited the Sacramento and the Washington DC Police Officer Memorials this year. I wanted to see your name on the walls. It was a bittersweet experience.
Your death still haunts me. Every day, I think of you. You centered my life.
However, I also feel joy when I see Michael and his family. His wife Yen, his daughters Emily and Avery. They are beautiful children and you would beam with pride at them. Michael is a good man and I’m proud of him.
In addition, I’m grateful that the Huntington Beach Police Department remembers you and your sacrifice. You were a brave and noble officer.
I love you.
