Orville A. Preuster

Inspector Orville Preuster was killed when a bomb was placed in his vehicle at his home at 2115 10th Street in Niagara Falls, New York.

The bomb detonated when he pressed the starter in his car. Inspector Preuster was targeted because of his efforts in combating liquor smuggling along the Canadian border.

He was survived by his mother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 87th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
