K9 Jedi, last year I watched the body camera of the day you gave your life for your human. I was sad but very proud as you held that suspect and made it so the injuries to your partner where not life threatening. Today May 2nd as I performed Honor Guard at the Officer Down memorial your Human gave your eulogy to the assemble crowd. It is clear you touched him, your human family and the rest of your depart. You are loved and missed, rest in peace and thank you for your sacrifice.

John 15:13 - Greater love has no man than this: that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Jedi was a great police officer, the standard for K-9 officers within the Seattle Police Department. Jedi was responsible for over 100 apprehensions and arrests, among many other successes in his 4.5 years of service. More importantly, Jedi loved his human partner and saved his human's life on this call. Jedi fought as long as he could and ultimately sacrificed his life defending his fellow officers, without fear.
Until we see you again, Rest In Peace, Jedi.

The First & The Last
The first to sense the hostility of a suspect,
The first to react to protect his master,
The first to enter where danger lurks,
The first to detect the hidden intruder.
The first to take action against violence.
The first to sense his master’s joy.
The first to know his master’s sorrow or fear.
The first to give his life in defense of his master.
The last to be forgotten by those who work with others like him.
They know him as a “Partner”, not just an animal.
