The First & The Last
The first to sense the hostility of a suspect,
The first to react to protect his master,
The first to enter where danger lurks,
The first to detect the hidden intruder.
The first to take action against violence.
The first to sense his master’s joy.
The first to know his master’s sorrow or fear.
The first to give his life in defense of his master.
The last to be forgotten by those who work with others like him.
They know him as a “Partner”, not just an animal.

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a Law Enforcement K-9 family member, K9 Jaeger of the Stephens County OK Sheriff's Office, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. I was K9 Jaeger's owner and handler. Our job with the Stephens County Sheriff Department was to locate and apprehend violent offenders. K9 Jaeger fulfilled his duties admirably and he loved to get into the patrol car to go to work. He loved visiting kids in the schools and day cares and he loved wandering the office to get pets. He especially loved Arby's roast beef and vanilla ice cream which he received whenever an arrest was made. I will miss having him put his paw on my shoulder in the car and him always being by my side. He was a truly amazing partner and friend.
