K-9 Hondo, precious warrior, how SAD and heartbreaking to learn of the situation that took you home. Heaven rejoices but those left behind hurt deeply and mourn your sacrifice. You are a true HERO, rest now, you did ALL that you were sent to do - send a message of comfort to that effect to your partner, family and department.

K-9 Hondo may God welcome you home with open arms. Thank you for your service. I also pray that God comforts your partner/handler fore part of them has also gone home. Losing a K-9 partner is a heartbreak I would never ever wish on anyone. My respects always.

Heavenly Father, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Partner-in-Blue, K9 Hondo, of the Herriman City, Utah Police Department, was taken from us suddenly and violently on Thursday, February 13, 2020. K9 Hondo was shot and killed in the Line-of-Duty while attempting an apprehension of a wanted subject in the area of 445 East and 300 South in downtown Salt Lake City shortly before midnight. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. We ask this through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can go to the Father except by way of the Son. Now, cross over the ‘Rainbow Bridge’ and jump into the loving arms of the Lord Jesus Christ where you will remain forever more. Amen.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 CSB]
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! …” [Matthew 25:21 CSB]
