Someday we will find a cure for Valley Fever. Having lost several beloved dogs to Valley Fever one must never give up trying to find a cure so that no one will ever have to feel the sadness and loss of a beloved partner or devoted pet ever again. Say hello to all the others at the Rainbow Bridge K-9 Windy until you see your partner again and I see all my babies again rest in peace. We will continue looking for the cure. You'll never be forgotten, I promise.

My dad was a K-9 officer during WWll. He was a member of the Coast Guard during his time here before he was sent to the South Pacific in Naval Service. While he was in the US he patrolled the East Coast in Virginia with his dog/partner, a German Shepherd named Queenie. Many people did not know how close the enemy came to our shores. My dad passed away two years ago and at least once or twice a week he would speak of “his girl Queenie. We all grew up hearing of the funny adventures. Rest In Peace Gunnery Control Officer , K-9 Queenie and , of course, K-9 Windy.

Losing any K-9 (pet or working dog) is never an easy thing to get over. Having loss several pets over the years myself, I grieve as if I lost my own child. I've learned that just remembering about those days you enjoyed their companionship makes it a little easier bear. May your loss be eased by the fact that although I never met you companion, she will always be remembered as one of our own who will never be forgotten.
John R. Stewart Detective (Retired) Kansas City, Missouri Police Dept.

K-9 Windy, God gifted you with not only the greatest nose of all, but the devotion, loyalty and steady, unrelenting drive that made you an exceptional partner. It is heartbreaking that those same abilities caused trouble for you. Now, over the Rainbow Bridge, you can rest amongst the other heroes like yourself. May God grant your partner, family and department peace and comfort. As your name says, your spirit will always be around, whispering in the wind. Thank you beautiful girl!
