Wow what a hero dog. Verro did everything imaginable to break loose from his confined environment only to go and try to rescue his handler. Rip Verro you gave your life to serve and protect. My condolences to Verro's handler.

K9 Verro, I have thought of you a great deal over the past several months. You verocity and desire to accomplish your job ultimately cost you your life. You most certainly saved lives in your community during your career and you will be remembered always as a hero! May you run the fields of heaven chasing and catching fast things.
My deepest condolences for your handler, fellow officers and all those who love and will miss you.
There is much to be learned from this dreadful event, your death will not be in vain as we use this incident as an example for handler training and we pray much is learned and changes made to prevent anything such as this from happening to any K9s who follow in your paw prints!
You will be remembered always as a hero, never forgotton!

A sad senseless tragedy. A life lost to the chaos and confusion of a dangerous domestic violence criminal pursuit. Now there is a LEO living with the knowledge they took the life of a K9, a handler mourning their partner, and a dead K9 hero all because someone broke the law and resisted arrest. Prayers for the LEOs and K9.

That’s heartbreaking for all involved. The Officer would feel devastated. I worked 23 years with Officers who trained these dogs. I know how much they are loved by all.

K-9 Verro, your first and only thought was to assist and defend your partner. You went above and beyond by finding a way out of the vehicle to aid when you thought you were needed! Determination and intent like that reveals what a superstar you are! Now you can rest with the other K-9 heroes who have crossed the Rainbow Ridge before you. May God grant your partner, family and department peace and comfort. They should be SO proud of you!
