It's not the loss of a dog, it's the loss of a partner and friend and it can be as tough as when we lose a human family member.
The K-9's currently patrolling the Rainbow Bridge just got a little more help.

It's never easy to loose a partner and friend but it's a special kind of loss and grieving when it's also your families best friend. RIP and may God bless you and bring you peace to the handler and family.

RIP K9 Doby. K9's are some of the most important and brave souls when accompanied by their handler. Both go out of their way to go and find criminals together and risk their lives together. I'm positive K9 Doby will be greatly missed. After all, a handler and their K9 are one of the strongest bonds to man.

It's extremely saddening when an animal has passed away, especially a service animal. You must also honor all the accomplishments this amazing dog has done, may he rest in peace.

A HEAVENLY HOME…
Are these magnificent creatures now with the Lord Himself in the Heavenly Realm? Pastor and Author Randy Alcorn at EPM.org certainly feels this is factual, and even devoted 2 chapters of his best selling “Heaven” book to establish his case. Many of his inspiring articles are at: https://www.epm.org/search/?q=Animals+in+Heaven. We can also get a glimpse of the Glorious Reunions awaiting their devoted Handlers, Trainers and Owners at ImagineHeaven.net May the Good Lord comfort these intelligent and brave animals and their human family and caring departments accordingly…

Our dog has been receiving treatments for cancer at the vet hospital where Doby was taken on that tragic morning. We had just finished her appointment and were relieved she has been doing so well - we were right outside the hospital when sirens got our attention and suddenly, there were multiple police vehicles zooming up to the clinic. We watched as Doby's partner raced out of his car, cradling Doby in his arms and into the clinic. I will never, ever forget the look of sheer panic and grief on his face. We knew it must be quite serious and when we got in our car and started driving home, I couldn't stop crying and thinking about that sweet dog and all the dear people surrounding him who were giving their all to try to save him. That image has stayed with me for the last few weeks and I was so sorry to read about Doby's death. My husband consoled me on that morning saying "One thing you have to know, from watching the way they brought him in, that dog is getting the best possible treatment and care - those people were doing everything they could for him. Whether he can be saved or not, it's good to see a dog given such respect and consideration." I know it is not much consolation, but I wanted the Fairfax police to know we were proud of you for the loving care and the serious effort you made for him. I'm so very sorry he couldn't be revived. We send you our condolences and our gratitude for trying so hard for him. I have to believe he felt the love and support. And Doby, you did good.
