I grew up in St. Clair Shores, not far from where this happened. I also was a Military Working Dog Hander, my heart goes out to his handler and his family. A lot of people have pets and believe they love and have a bond with their pets. But you will never understand the bond between a K-9 and their handler, unless you have experienced it first hand.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the St. Clair Shores, Michigan Police Department and the family, friends, and colleagues of K-9 Axe, who was shot and killed in the Line-of-Duty on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Let us celebrate his accomplishments and remember his selfless sacrifice in the Line-of-Duty. Now that K9 Axe has left this life, please help the members of the St. Clair Shores Police Department cope with his loss with strength and courage. May K9 Axe always be remembered as a trusted colleague who completed his missions with true dedication and the unconditional love he provided his caregivers. Heavenly Father, by Your Word, death is not the end; it does not have the final say! For Scripture promises that all flesh shall see the salvation of God! All dogs do go to heaven, because they have a spirit that epitomizes God’s unconditional love. After all, DOG spelt backwards is GOD! Well done, good and faithful servant!

You died on duty protecting and assisting other officers to capture a violent and dangerous man. If you had not been there that man would have no doubt shot at the officers and killed or wounded one or more. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten and our sorrow is tempered by our respect and thanks for your bravery and love.

A HEAVENLY HOME…
Are these magnificent creatures now with the Lord Himself in the Heavenly Realm? Pastor and Author Randy Alcorn at EPM.org certainly feels this is factual, and even devoted 2 chapters of his best selling “Heaven” book to establish his case. Many of his inspiring articles are at: https://www.epm.org/search/?q=Animals+in+Heaven. We can also get a glimpse of the Glorious Reunions awaiting their devoted Handlers, Trainers and Owners at ImagineHeaven.net May the Good Lord comfort these intelligent and brave animals and their human family and caring departments accordingly…

If you search the net you can find the back story on this. One thing is for certain, that dog flushed the armed dog out and it would seem obvious the dog saved his handler and other cops present from likely being shot. Dogs rock.

K9 Axe's Handler, family and friends may God grant you all with a speedy healing. Loosing a loyal friend such as a K9 is a terrible thing. As you see they will lay down their life day after day to protect their handler and all fellow Officers. K9 Axe you passed a Hero doing what you were taught to do and i am sure doing what you loved to do Serve and Protect. I would tell you to take a bite out of him when he reaches the Gates but as far as i am concerned he will never enter the Gates that you have entered. His gates will be to hot to touch.
