Reflections for K9 Smokey
Drunks kill in many ways. So sad to know you thought you had been let out to help and protect your handler as you were trained to do. May you rest in peace as the hero you are and may all your dreams be of balls, treats and love.

A HEAVENLY HOME…
Are these magnificent creatures now with the Lord Himself in the Heavenly Realm? Pastor and Author Randy Alcorn at EPM.org certainly feels this is factual, and even devoted 2 chapters of his best selling “Heaven” book to establish his case. Many of his inspiring articles are at: https://www.epm.org/search/?q=Animals+in+Heaven. We can also get a glimpse of the Glorious Reunions awaiting their devoted Handlers, Trainers and Owners at ImagineHeaven.net May the Good Lord comfort these intelligent and brave animals and their human family and caring departments accordingly…

K-9 Smokey, the senseless misconduct of one lawbreaker robbed you of your life and took a hero from the Nowata P.D. But you live on across the Rainbow Ridge, having joined the ranks of your fellow K-9 officers, never to be forgotten. May God fill the hearts of your partner, family and department with peace, comfort and beautiful memories of your exemplary loyal, loving and giving life!

A Prayer for K9 Smokey:
Thank you for your law enforcement service to the citizens of Nowata, Oklahoma and to the Nowata Police Department. Let us celebrate your accomplishments and remember your selfless sacrifice in the Line-of-Duty. In Luke 3:6 Jesus promised, “And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” So, death is not the end; it does not have the final say! All dogs do go to heaven because you have a spirit that epitomizes God's unconditional love. After all, DOG is GOD spelt backwards! Now, my furry, four-legged Comrade-in-Blue, rest easy, we will take it from here.
"Well done, good and faithful servant" [Matthew 25:11 ESV]
A Police Dog's Oath:
"I will lay down my life for you and expect nothing but love in return. I protect my officer with my life, and would gladly take a bullet in his/her place. I am sent in to find lost children and fugitives on the run. I find drugs and weapons and even bombs. I am the first sent in and sometimes the last to leave. I am the nose and ears of my officer. I will protect and serve my officer. I would die for my officer and for you. I only ask for compassion and a kind word in return."
Almighty God, the Nowata Police Department was fortunate to receive the gift of K9 Smokey from You. Now that he has left this life, please help them cope with their loss with strength and courage. I know that their beloved companion no longer suffers, and will live on in many fond memories. May he always be remembered as a trusted colleague who completed his missions with true dedication as he was trained, as well as, the unconditional love he provided his handler and caregivers. May the Lord God bless you always. In Jesus’ holy and mighty name, I pray. Amen.
