RIP K9 Bane,
You did not die in vein . Your bravery will forever be remembered. Your life was short but in that amount of time, you not only served your duty bravely and with honor, but you impacted so many amazing people while you were here on earth. My deepest and saddest condolences to your family, the Phoenix Police Department, and to your handler. With a heavy heart, I write this and I pray that you are happy in heaven with so many other brave K9's who have lost their lives due to the cowardly acts of others. You may have been here a short while, but you definitely left paw prints that will be on the hearts of so many people within the community. Rest In Peace, Bane. We will take it from here.\

K9 Officer Bane, you paid the ultimate sacrifice doing a job you loved, you did it for a simple scratch behind the ears and a kind loving word from your two legged partner. It is your time to play across the Rainbow Bridge until you and your partner are forever reunited. To your handler stay strong.

K-9 Bane may God welcome you with open arms. To do good here truly deserves the reward of being in paradise. My prayers for your handler. Nothing can describe that bond of a handler and a K-9. Don't think a word could ever exist its just that simple. I know you will be in the best of company.

K-9 Bane, you were born for a place and time and job that only you could do. And you did it all perfectly! God has every tear cried for you by your partner, department, family and extended family in His hands and is shaping them into a star with your name on it so you will always shine on! May He give His peace -

May K-9 Officer Bane rest peacefully knowing that he made the ultimate sacrifice in his attempt to bring a suspect into compliance and arrest. In doing so, he did what he was trained to do and what was expected of him. His primary duty was to initially protect his handler and other officers from harm. While we understand his mission and that he could give his life performing his duty, it hurts to see him give his life, just as much as if one of his human officers had to give their life to protect the citizens of Phoenix and the State of Arizona. My condolences to Bane’s handler and partner and to the Phoenix Police Department.

We have a K-9 officer in our family, my brother. His dog, Luna, looks a lot like Bane. When something like this happens it hits so close to home. I'm thinking of Bane's handler right now. I know how close they will have been and my thoughts are with you and Bane. Luna (and Bosco before her) has saved my brother's life and other lives many times through the years. We mourn all the pets in our family, but the canine officers have a special place because of their work. Rest well, Bane. Good Boy!

To Bane and his trainer, and all those who loved him. Our 9 year old was at a nearby Catholic school where this incident took place today, and where you bravely did your job and gave the ultimate sacrifice. Our family was so very sad to hear you lost your life today. We will always be very grateful to you for your protection. In your honor, we will find out how we can make a donation for other brave K-9's like you. My son, whose life you died protecting today, has a favorite saint, St. Francis of Assisi, who loved animals. We will keep you and all those who loved you in our prayers. May God bless you and all brave K-9's and their trainers.

I am sorry for your loss of Bane. He made the ultimate sacrifice. We are all so lucky to be in the company of animals and Bane left this world too soon. I've heard it said that the closest people will get in this life to experiencing a God is to be in the company of animals and I think this is true. I'm sorry for your loss and please e-mail me if their is a funeral or celebration of Bane's life.
