I had the great honor of taking care of officer Forrest. I knew him as just a dog at the kennel but respected him as an officer. I would ruffle his fur and call him handsome. He had a wonderful spirit brave and true. I know he is in the arms of the angels now. Run free officer Forrest you will never be forgotten.

One day on shift several months ago, I remember Deputy Ellis asking me to put on the bite sleeve and catch Forrest. I completely underestimated his sheer strength as I jogged away from him thinking he would tag me like any other dog before. Forrest took off, launched, spun me around and upended me, putting me on the ground. All of our dogs have drive, but Forrest was different. You will be forever missed by your family at VCSO. Rest in peace, buddy. Job well done.
