There is something deeply special about the loyalty and love of working dogs and it is something that I am certain the Pittsburgh PD never took for granted. The photos/videos of Rocco on the news and in social media are simultaneously breaking my heart and filling me with pride because I know that Rocco, on some level, knew he was a brave, proud, loving and strong hero. I am so sorry to hear about Rocco's death. I know firsthand what a loss a wonderful Shepherd is to the family. I'm sure Rocco was not only a "cop" but a great friend also.
