Reflections for K9 Shadow
- 1
- 2
K-9 Shadow, you once cast your own 4 legged shadow as you helped your partners to fight crime and to save lives, and now you have been called to to your next post with your buddy, Corporal Travis Lanphere, to bring back some of Heaven's light into his eyes and warmth into his smile, and to comfort him every night as you curl up next to his heart ... until you meet again.
God Bless you all,

I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you for your Reflections for my fallen partner. Being there in his final moments was very hard, every day since has been hard. i am not sure as to why this had to happen, I guess they needed another four legged friend to guard the gates. Rest in Peace Shadow....say hi to Nitro and Terry for me.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain; but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.
Rest in peace.

Well said John. It is always heartbreaking & tragic when any officer dies so to all the fallen officer's worldwide, people & animals us citizens appreciate that you made the ultimate sacrifice in this cruel world. I think it's also important to leave reflections on the previous year's also,i noticed some dont have many so if you ever have time then go back be it 1994 or 1978 etc and make sure the hero's that grace this page are never forgotten. To Shadow & all those that went before their time, your watch is over so RIP.

My brothers, sisters, family, friends. I have the utmost respect for you all. It is this respect that brings me to realize some short falls as of recent in my opinion. I cannot help but notice that there are what seem to be to few reflections left here for Shadow. In fact the least number of reflections of all in the line of duty passings of all the K-9 hero's that are listed here to date.
The K-9 hero's that passed in this year are remembered in different ways. Some for their bravery and others for their dilligence. Each and everyone gave all they had without hesitation or reservation. Please remember when you read the officer down K-9 page that some of these K-9 hero's went with their human officer partner. Some passed chasing down mope criminal. Some passed in accidents while tracking, and some passed while training. None of these losses are are any less traumatic for the handlers, fellow officers, department personell and the general public that these officers served.
Hero's are hero's. Please remember who these reflections are for. Please remember all the k-9 heroe's listed here. For without these partners our lives would be significently more complicated and dangerous. Any loss of an officer either human or K-9 is a tremendous loss for all. Any loss is one loss to many. Please take time to reflect on all the hero's listed her and their ultimate sacrifice. We will all cross that bridge someday. Some of us will remain there, and some will move on. When I will look out over that vast sea of hero's I will want to remember each and everyone for their call to duty. Respectfully. Thank you.
