Reflections for K9 Mattie
I had the pleasure of working with both Gil and Maddie. Knowing they made the institution safe each day will be such a great loss. Both will always be remembered in our hearts. Rest in Peace. May God watch over you. Condelences and prayes to the family and to those who knew them.

It was my Honor and Privilege to work with Sgt. Cortez. He was an outstanding Professional. He bestowed confidence upon those he encountered on a daily basis. Sgt Cortez was always available to those he who encountered during the course of his career. K9 Mattie was his Partner, Friend, and confidant. We are all deeply saddened by such a tragic and sudden loss of not only a Fellow Officer, but of losing a Dear Friend. May you walk in Heaven with Mattie always watching over those who continue to protect and serve. We Love You Brother...
