It was my Honor and Privilege to work with Sgt. Cortez. He was an outstanding Professional. He bestowed confidence upon those he encountered on a daily basis. Sgt Cortez was always available to those he who encountered during the course of his career. K9 Mattie was his Partner, Friend, and confidant. We are all deeply saddened by such a tragic and sudden loss of not only a Fellow Officer, but of losing a Dear Friend.
